Las Vegas Neil Diamond Tribute Show

Rob Garrett’s “KING OF DIAMONDS” Vegas residency show keeps Rob Garrett Neil Diamond Tribute Artist reviews and ratings going strong in the “Modern Showrooms Las Vegas” at Alexis Park Las Vegas Hotel.

Music icon Neil Diamond is one of the most successful and beloved singer/songwriters in contemporary pop-rock music history.

In addition to being one of the best-selling and record-breaking touring artists ever, he’s also composed the songs of a generation — including some of the most famous songs on the planet.

In the beginning of 2018, shortly before his 77th year, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

However, Diamond’s live performance legacy continues to be kept alive for audiences throughout the world through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, known as America’s premier Neil Diamond tribute performer.

Ask Siri “who is America’s number one Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.

Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.

In May 1974, his parents relocated from New York City to Las Vegas, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first live Neil Diamond show when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Hotel’s “Theater for the Performing Arts” in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him another 16 times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from cover band frontman to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his musical idols.

In 1995, Garrett was hand-picked by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the Honolulu production of “Legends in Concert”.

What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a long-term hit show.

By August 1998, Garrett returned home to Las Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to launch his own show.

He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a large and loyal following along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”

He continues to sell out theaters nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.

Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in this year, Garrett celebrates 45 years as an active Las Vegas entertainer, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has appeared at more Vegas stages than any other.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the only continuous Neil Diamond tribute in the U.S..

The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., about a quarter mile from Paradise Road.
